Since, I'm on a bit of a mini-robot kick at the moment. I thought I would share some of the videos I've seen lately that at least inspired it. The elegance of some of these movements and the music remind me of the child-like imagination that we perhaps once had before becoming more jaded with age. At least, the dreams of a little engineer.
This last one is just fun.

I'am very impressed by the A-Pod ! It is crazy to see how this technologies grown up.

it was unsynchronous because they used VLC as music-player and the player is very smooth

The music on the third one is from "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain".
the A-Pod's movements were very accurate but its walking was slow and chunky. lots of room for improvemen and then ultimately they're going to want to see it AI-ified so no more hand held controller. scary part in the video was at the end when the Apod was hovering over the controller. brought back memories of "The Matrix". this is very dangerous stuff and i beleive many of the ideas talked about in the matrix are destined to come true because apparently humans do not know how to control themselves. i seriously believe there will be a war involving humans and robots. terminator salvation, another movie tlaking about human vs robot.
but yeah, once DARPA gets their hands on Apods, that is it. i bet they do already. strange times.
also wanted to mention that MIT is doing some interesting research on artificle muscles (Electroactive Polymer Actuators) very interesting.
here is the video on Ian Hunter's Bio-Instrumentation Systems Lab at MIT. highly interesting. once this tech gets fully implemented the distinction between organic life and robotic will be much more blurred:
