Hi, all. I got a few moments yesterday to make a couple of small improvements to the Wiimote Whiteboard software. Most notably, I improved the mouse emulation code. There were problems where it wouldn't work with some programs like PowerPoint, Alias Sketchbook, etc. So, those work fine now.
I also added a "Tracking Utilization" feedback to the GUI which tells you how much of the camera you are utilizing for tracking. This gets updated after calibration. This provides a way to evaluate how good your Wiimote placement is which directly impacts tracking quality. Getting this number to 100% is virtually impossible in any usable configuration, but dropping below 50% is a sign of not-so-great Wiimote placement.
I've also updated the code to use Brian Peeks's WiimoteLib v1.2. I think this may help a little with greater Bluetooth/Vista compatibility. On a technical note, the WiimoteLib in this download is slightly modified to increase the Wiimote camera sensitivity.

Thanks for the nice idea of tracking utilization :-) I'm adding it to Linux Whiteboard.
Just after I thought there would be no room for improvements.
I haven't used your program since I have no Windows around. Currently the Linux version is finished with right-clicking, drag-n-dropping, multiple Wiimotes, smooth pointer motion and a multi-lingual GUI. If Whiteboard is lacking in some aspect, I can contribute.

The right-click issue has been driving me nuts.
I showed this Wiimote Whiteboard to my colleagues at the office - their jaws dropped to the ground.
@Tim: The right-clicking is done by turning on the IR pen and holding still for a configurable amount of time (by default 1 second). If you move the pen during that time, it becomes a drag-and-drop operation.
Filters are added to reduce the choppiness of IR signals, so as to make sure right-click is as easy as click-n-drag.

Hey, I've just been looking at your site and your youtube Wiimote videos and I was wondering if you've thought about marrying this stuff with projectors and applying this sort of technology to a GUI. I have this vision of walking into my "computer room" with my IR LED visors on and being able to virtually walk through a corridor with desktop icons that I can access just like in a standard GUI (I guess with a glove equipped with an IR light pen or something). Just curious. I'm not a computer scientist, so I'm not up on all the most recent CS developments, but I'm sure you guys have had this type of idea before.
